I think it's the cynic in me that has always found Oberst's lyrics spiritually thought-provoking, especially the songs off Lifted.
The cynic in you?
Bright Eyes lyrics are indeed thought provoking - yet so nicely woven with music that you can at times just relax to the music and others delve deeply into thought.
I love that song.. and most any of Obersts' songs.
He is indeed an amazing songwriter
