Rocketown Records President Don Donahue recently announced the formation of a new label imprint, RKT Music, and the imprint’s first release, Lifegiver, from four-piece modern rock band Hyper Static Union. Unlike Rocketown, whose primary focus serves singer/songwriters, RKT will seek out touring bands with strong artistic statements, active fan bases and great songs to reach a diverse demographic. HSU was discovered by members of Grammy-winning band Third Day, who signed HSU to their own Consuming Fire Productions and brought the album to RKT to market and distribute. HSU’s debut, Lifegiver, is set for a May 9, 2006 street date. (Source:April Hefner of Rocketown Records)
