BEND MY EAR

I need your help. I'm writing an article, due too soon, for The Worshiper, a new magazine "for the people in the pews", on the Church's role in hurricane relief efforts. I'll talk about the philosophy of mercy showing, why we should be involved as Christians etc and then share a story or two of churches or individuals out there making it happen in real life. I have stories of my own but wanted to give Shloggers a chance to chime in before I start typing.

Tell me your story. What are you or yours doing to aid those affected by Katrina? Post a comment here or e-mail me at shaungrovesfanmail@charter.net. Subject: "Katrina story".

Well our church is sending teams down to MS, with Flood Buckets(donated by members of the church filled with needed supplies), rasied over 20k for a relief agency...but it feels too easy

well, i don't belong to a church. . so i'm afraid I can't help you in that way.

as for me, i haven't done a thing yet, just prayed. About the only options I have, living in another country would be financial aid and prayer. I will donate money to the S.A. and I will continue to pray.

our church didn't take up a "special" offering, they just gave $150,000. $50,000 for immediate relief, and $100,000 for long-term rebuilding relief. they also collected toiletries, baby needs, etc and sent them down.
