EMBRACING THE SEVENTIES

I'm embracing the seventies tonight. Other hotel chains use fancy words like "renovate" and "redecorate" but not Best Western. Like Captain loved Tennille, Best Western has a hankering for Santa Fe themed wall "art" and teal carpet it's not about to let go of.

Truth may be that I'm just bitter because I got spoiled by my room at the Marriot the last few days and had to leave town again sooner than I wanted to. Becky and I returned from our anniversary vacation just long enough for me to kiss the kids hello, then good bye again, and hop on a plane with Brian to Phillie...from whence I blog tonight. (That's right, I said "whence.")

In the morning I'm at Calvary Church in Souderton, Pennsylvania. I'm playing in their two church services then speaking to/hanging out with about forty musicians at a lunch/forum hosted by the church, then an evening concert.

That's a busy day. Better head to bed now...to my teal green and flower print bed.

I always have to turn down my teal and flower print bed...the pattern (not to mention the texure) does funny things to my eyes...and stomach.

Miss you.

Well that bites. The life of a Huge Soft Rock Star! Ladies and Gentlemen it's not as glamorous as we all hoped! *gasp* *shock* *awe*

I am a fan of shag carpet. Shag carpets and oriental rugs that's what I love...ohh and the really bright really fuzzy bathroom mats...why am I talking about carpet? Oh wait that's right HRS brought it up.
Which by the way when are you gonna go by...HSRS instead of just HRS?

i used to have a rake for the shag carpeting in my room! The carpeting was dark blue and my furniture was painted lime green. my wallpaper was a flocked, raised daisy print in green and blue on a dotted white background. . ahh the 70s!!!!

enjoy your tacky decor!!! feel the power of the time warp.

Best Western... I have no idea how they stay in business. Even the shampoo bottles are seventies. Staying there makes me want to grow a mustache and drink scotch.

I think I've stayed in that hotel before. or at least one just as glamourous... bet you haven't stayed at one called The Bambi Motel? See I've got a one up you there unless you've been to Gainsville Florida.

Last night I stayed in a Travelodge in Oshkosh, WI and was offered "all the crack I could smoke in my lifetime" if I gave the intoxicated man in the lobby $2. Although it sounded like a pretty good deal, I passed.

Was said "intoxicated man" going by the last name Stuart by any chance or otherwise attached to a band you may happen to be on the road with?

My bad. I commented on the last post that I thought you should post about your wife, since it was your anniversary and all. To your credit, in my boredom I skimmed the archives and found a post about when you first met your wife (and her father...), a post about the wedding, and a post about the beauty of married sex (as opposed to the idea of a stripper for Jesus).

But I still think you should tell us a tiny snippet of how wonderful the anniversary was.
