AMAZE OR AMEN: TONIGHT AT IKON

Tonight at ikon we're looking into 1 Corinthians 14 - the 14th chapter of the apostle Paul's letter to the church in Corinth. They have a lot of problems, not the least of which is figuring out whether or not they should be "speaking in tongues", what that means and how important it is? Is it more important than teaching, for instance? We'll try to get to the bottom of Paul's answer to them and learn a little something about that way-too-familiar word "amen" along the way - something that could make a big difference in how we look at church and ourselves.

See you there.

OOOOHHHH Nice topic to discuss with Southern Baptists. It'd been interesting to have my sister there since she's around speaking in tongues A LOT! After being with her for so long and going to the Assembly of God events where the teenagers just breakout into blubajuba (my word for speaking in tongues) during the alter call cause the Spirit's break dancing through the crowd I'm use to it. Most Southern Baptists it freaks them out. Me I'm like it's cool I don't care. You speak in blubajuba I'll keep praying in english thanks.
